Two Exceptions
- Systolic murmur of HOCM – which usually becomes
much soft - Murmur of MVP – which soften
Murmurs with Passive leg raising – Passive leg raising usually produces the same results as squatting
Positional changes:
Standing
Most murmurs diminish
- Murmur of HOCM becomes louder
- Murmur of MVP – lengthens and often is intensified
Squatting
- Most murmurs become louder
- But HOCM and MVP usually soften
